reliable medical information

One of the most common requests that I get besides how to find an old friend or loved one is how to find reliable medical information or forums regarding a specific medical condition.

Here is a list of the top 100 most reliable medical sites from the consumer and patient health information section of the medical library association (what a mouthful).  I’ve used 80% of these sites at one time or another and they have been a great resource for many health topics.

Sometimes it’s helpful to connect with other people that share the same medical challenge. BoardTracker is a great resource for finding discussions on almost any topic you can imagine. Try typing fibromyalgia, migraine or cancer into this tool and you’ll be amazed by the results.

Please remember that no site will take the place of working with your physician for medical conditions. If you’re having a hard time finding something,  please leave me a comment and I’ll write a step by step post to help you find the information you need.
